Group of (over 470) European former Ministers, Ambassadors and Senior Officials urging for Stronger EU action on Palestine / Israel

This group was set up in summer 2025 by a small group of former EU ambassadors who issued the group's first statement (an open letter) on 10 July 2025. The group rapidly expanded with more EU former ambassadors participating and then former Directors General and other senior officials of the EU institutions. By the time of its third statement in August 2025 the group also expanded to include former national ambassadors and senior officials of various EU Member States. Later on, former Ministers - including some Prime Ministers and Deputy PMs - and former European Commissioners joined as co-signatories for subsequent statements. The group's most recent statement had over 470 co-signatories.
